First day in Kamloops
Sep 9th
I was on the plane from Kansai Airport to Kamloops for about 9 hours, so I was very tired and went to bed as soon as when I got to my host family’s house.
Downtowm
Sep 12th
We went to downtown for an activity class with Tarun. We looked at different stores and went to the park. Tarun bought us ice cream. Ryuto and I went to a restaurant called Peter Pasta for dinner. It was very delicious.
Go shopping
Sep 14th
We went to the RCMP for fieldwork. After that, we went to a thrift store that I was curious about. I bought jeans, knitwear and shoes there for $45. I was surprised when I heard the price because it was so cheap. After shopping, we went to 7-Eleven. They had a lot of energy drinks that I had never seen before.
Pancakes and Pizza

There was a pancake event in the morning. I made new friends there. I was very happy, but I was very nervous to talk to foreigners. After school, I participated in an event where you could eat pizza for only $2. It was fun, but I was very tired, so I went to bed early.
Tapestry Festival in McDonald Park
Sep 16th
I went to McDonald Park. There was a tapestry festival being held there. There were stores from various countries and people from all over the world. I had chicken, spicy rice and green rice. It was very delicious. It was a very nice holiday.
Aberdeen Mall
Sep 17th
I went to the Aberdeen Mall with friends. I ate the A&W for the first time. It was good. Then I bought a hoodie and a down jacket there. Some girls had a piercing. I ate a gyoza for dinner. After dinner, I walked around the house with friends who lived in Aberdeen.
Gold Panning & Tranquille River

I went to the Tranquille River with Tarun and classmates. There are a lot of nature, so those were beautiful. We saw a duck and many plants. There were large puddles on our way there. It was hard to cross the ones. Some people have wet shoes because of the puddles. The river of water is so clear. I and Manami were wearing similar clothes.
Hang out with New Friends

I and Ryuto went shopping with new friends. We met them at t pancake event. They picked us up to university. Then, we went downtown. The market was held there. There were many things such as vegitable and cheese. Vegetables from Overseas are bigger than Japan ones.
And then, we went shop that I like . It can buy reasonable clothes. The shap happened to do a 50% off sale. We got great clothes. I was happy because everyane look satisfied. We har a burrito.I had it for the first time. I and Ryuto had a good weekend.
Indoor Rock Climbing & Golf

We did Indoor Rock Climbing and Golf with Tarun. I played golf for the first time . It was difficult for me to play it, but it was fun.
Vancouver Trip
Sep 30~Oct 2
Day 1
It took about 4 hours from Kamloops to Vancouver by bus. We arrived at Vancouver in the afternoon. First, I and Ryuto checked in to the hotel. After checking in, we went to the thrift store. We bought a clothes. Then we went to the Pacific Mall. There are many stores such as Roots and Canadian Goose. We went to Red Robin. It is hamburger shop. We ordered that which are the biggest hamburger in this shop? We ordered the biggest hamburger and beer. Those were very delicious. After dinner, we met Satsuki and her friend. Her friends is Korean. We went to Korean shop with her. We had Korean foods and alcohol. I and Ryuto have already been full because we had had the biggest hamburger. We got drunk. Satsuki was especially bad. I and Ryuto took her the hotel where she was staying. We had a good tome.
Day2
Using our bicycles, Ryuto and I went to many places. First we went to St. Ray Park. It was very nice to ride along the ocean. Next we went to Granville Island. There we ate stew cups and looked at stores. After that we went to the outlet mall. But I could only go there for about 10 minutes. It was a very hard 20 km round trip, but it was a good memory. At night, I ate a big steak. It was very delicious. After that, I went to Gastown. It was a very beautiful town, but I felt it was dangerous to go too far.
Day3
I and Ryuto went to souvenir store in Gastown. We bought many things. We had a hamburger. We order small fries, but it is not small too much. We had a good trip.
Kamgaroo Farm and Bee Farm
Oct 7th
We came to a kangaroo farm. It took about two hours by bus from the university. There were various animals there. There were capipalas, wallabies, birds and rabbits. The kangaroos were very cute, but some of them looked very bored. There was also an animal that looked like a peacock. We had pizza for lunch. Then we went to a small farm. We drank apple juice. It was 100% apple and tasted very strong. We also drank mead, a drink made from honey. It is said to be the oldest alcohol and has a very long history. It tasted similar to wine. I found it a little bitter.
Indian Friends
Oct 8
I saw a movie with an Indian guy I became to be friends at a focus club at his house. He bought Ryuto and me lunch. He had two dogs and they were very cute. He gave me his homemade hot sauce. It was very tasty. We watched Gintama. Gintama is a very interesting Japanese anime. It is very popular among foreign people and he also laughed when he saw it. I was very happy to see him laughing. On the way home, he gave me beer and juice, and I thought he was very kind.
Thanksgiving Day and Hiking to Kenna
Oct 9th
oday is Thanksgiving day. It is a special holiday. I, Satsuki, Natsumi and Ryuto went hiking. It was a very nice place and had the snacks and fruits at the top were delicious. When I got home, I had a lot of food: turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, etc. All of these were delicious. Everything was delicious. Then we played board games. I didn’t win but it was fun. I think I had a good thanksgiving day.
Waterfalls and Volleyball Game
Oct 14th
We went to see a waterfall in an activity class. It took about 2 hours by bus to get there. We saw three waterfalls: the first was the smallest but most natural. The second was wide and large. The third was the largest and most powerful. After I returned TRU, I watched a volleyball game at the university. Everyone was good and it was fun to watch. The result was that TRU lost, but it was a good game.
Misako-sama’s Birthday Party

There was a birthday party for Misako-sama. Tarun had prepared a cake. It was a good memory with good pictures. I felt it was very good to see people happy. I gave her some sweets. I was glad that she was happy.
OK’eefe and Basketball Game
Oct 21th
We went to OK’eefe Ranch with Tarun. We had a lot of fun watching ponies, sheep, and other animals and playing corn maze. We roasted marshmallows and ate them together. We also ate some really bad tasting candy. After that we went to the Hunted House. It was still evening so it wasn’t that scary but I thought it would be scary at night. After that we went to the gym. I was very tired, but after that, I watched a basketball game at the university. Everyone was very good and amazing. I thought it was a good game, but they lost.
Museum
Oct 24th
After lunch, we went to a museum downtown. We spent more time playing there than learning. We had fun doing puzzles, wearing costumes, and taking pictures. After that, we went shopping for Halloween costumes.
Presentation Prepartion
Oct 30th
After school, the five of us prepared for the presentation on the 31st. We thought about the script but it was difficult. I could not understand most of the draft. Tarun gave us sweets and juice. I was very happy because I was very hungry. Tarun is really kind.
Halloween Party
Oct 31th
We had a Halloween party! Everyone did pumpkin carving. It was amazing to see people making Stitch and Pooh. I carved my initials. It was a great time taking pictures and eating snacks with everyone. After going home and eating dinner, I went to the neighborhood to get candy. I never thought I would knock and get sweets. I thought it was something unthinkable in Japan. It was a very good experience.
Restaurant and Iced hockey Game
Nov 3rd
After school I went to a restaurant with Satsuki, Natsumi, Ryuto and Tarun. We had drinks, poutine, etc. We had chocolate cake for dessert. I had chocolate cake for dessert which was the second time I had had it, and it was still delicious. It was a lot of fun. After that, I watched an iced hockey game with my classmates. It was the first time for me to see a hockey game and I was very excited. I cheered for them a lot.
Winter Boots and Wakayama Ramen
Nov 4th
I went shopping for winter boots with friends. I bought a pair of Dr. Martin’s. It cost 235 Canadian dollars, but I think I got a good deal. After that, I went to Wakayama Ramen with Momoka and Kanon. The waiter was a foreigner. I had Tonkotsu Ramen there. The seniors had soy sauce ramen. It was good, but I felt it was a bit bland. I thought it was hard to beat Japanese ramen.
Nothern Lights
Nov 5th
Summer time ended at midnight. I was able to see the Northern lights today. It was very beautiful and impressive. I wanted to see it again.
Dreamcatcher
Nov 7th
We made a dream catcher. This is something that catches bad dreams and shows good dreams. It was very difficult to make it beautifully. I found it especially difficult to think about color and balance. Hoever, I thought it was fun to make.
Banff Trip
Nov 11th~13th
Day1
The bus was late arrived because of the snow. We took a cab to our hotel. We ate chips and Japanese cup noodles at the hotel. The snow was piling up and we got excited and did a snowball fight. We were locked out of the room because we forgot our keys. It was a good memory.
Day2
We went to the Good Earth to eat breakfast. I had a Macha Latte and Egg of sandwich. It was delicious. Then, we went to Louise Lake by bus. It was very beautiful nature and lake. I was so impressed. We tookpart in the tour of Banff. We rided a bus and went to many places. After that, we had a Alberta beef and wine. These were very delicious but stake was expensive. After backing at the hotel, we talked a lot while we had some drinks and snacks.
Day3
We went to Tim in the morning, had breakfast. Then, we left Banff. It took about 8 hours to get back, but it was not hard.
Wine tour in Kelowna
Nov 18th
We participated a wine tour in Kelowna with Tarun. We drank sweet wine, dry wine, red and white wine. A few of people got drunk and it was fun. I drank ice wine for the first time. It was very sweet and syrupy. It was delicious but too sweet. After that, we had lunch at a national park. The park was good nature and the people passing by looked like models. I felt that people in other countries are very fashionable. After that, I went shopping at a mall. I didn’t buy anything because I didn’t have enough money, but it was fun just to look something.
Game Center and Light Up Ceremony
Nov 22th
We went to a nearby game center and supermarket. We played mini bowling at the arcade. It was a lot of fun. I thought I want to go bowling with everyone when I go back to Japan. The Christmas tree light up was held at the university. We drank a hot chocolate and ate marshmallows until it was time to go. The tree light up ceremony was so beautiful and amazing. I was able to take a lot of good pictures and have a great time.
Arigato Sushi, DQ and Volleyball Game
Nov 25th
I went to Arigato Sushi with Momoka and Kanon for lunch. In my opinion, I thought the California rolls were delicious. Tuna and Tai were also delicious, but I thought the Japanese version was better. I met a Japanese waitress there. Then, we went to DQ. I went to there for the first time. We ate a Frozen ice. I was surprised it didn’t drop when I turned it upside down. After that, I went to a thrift store and bought a glass and a jeans in a nice color. I was very satisfied. After that I watched a volleyball game. They lost in a full set.
It was a good match.
Santa Parade
At noon, I went to a grocery store with Ryuto. We just looked a snacks. Then, we participated the Santa Parade. We dressed up as Christmas trees and walked downtown. It was amazing to see so many people. I felt it was something we don’t have in Japan. I had a good time and experience. There was no bus to go home, so I was late to get home.
Origami
Nov 28th
After school, I went to Sandy’s house to make origami. I went with Manami, Ryuto, and Tsubasa. I made dozens of stars. I was very tired but happy to eat Sandy’s meals. It was very delicious.
Christmas Party
Dec 2th
After lunch, I, Ryuto, Satsuki and Misako-ssama went downtown to look at souvenirs. We looked at the stores, but we didn’t buy anything good. We went to Hoja for dinner. It was interesting to be able to freely take ingredients and watch them being baked. I ate a lot and was very full. After that, we attended the Christmas party of Leap in TRU. We played various games and got gift cards and socks. We also sent letters to Japan and designed cookies. We took some pictures with Tarun. It was a very good picture, so I put it on my phone. I decided to buy a camera when I go back to Japan.
